The Masjid ManualMasjid design library by Temelar
About

Built by an architect who prays in these rooms.

I'm Abdullah Gerasimov, a licensed architect and principal of Temelar – Commercial Architecture.

I started The Masjid Manual after years of praying in mosques with the same problems. Mold climbing the grout. Water across the floor and into the carpet. Stained tile. Faucets pulling away from the wall.

None of it was bad luck. Each problem traced back to a design decision. A porous stone chosen from a pretty sample. A fan wired to the light switch. A drain in the wrong place. A faucet sealed with grout.

Committees rarely have someone to warn them before the money is spent. This library is that advice, free for any community. If you want help applying it, that is what Temelar does.

How Temelar can help

From one room to a whole building.

Temelar is a commercial architecture practice. For masjid projects, help usually takes one of these forms.

New masjid design

Layout, qibla set-out, design and construction drawings, with the working rooms done right from day one.

Wudu area renovation

Find out why a wudu room floods, stains or grows mold. Then get a rebuild your contractor can price.

Design review for committees

A second look at drawings someone else prepared, checked against this library before you build.

Construction administration

Site visits, flood-test witnessing and submittal review, so what gets built matches the drawings.
