What this room needs.

  • A wind lobby (two sets of doors) keeps heat, cold and dust out of the prayer hall.
  • Separate, equally dignified entrances for men and women where the community wants them, both on the accessible route.
  • Clear sight lines from the door to the shoe room, wudu and prayer hall. First-time visitors should never have to ask.
  • Space for stroller and wheelchair parking, a notice board and a donation point that does not block the flow.
  • Walk-off matting recessed into the floor, at least 10 ft of it, to catch grit before it reaches the carpet.
